More and more companies in the world invest in cloud solutions. The latest report by Worldwide Quarterly Cloud IT Infrastructure Tracker announced that, over the third quarter of 2015, global cloud infrastructure market increased by 23 percent compared with the same period the year before.

According to Robertas Ragauskas, Deputy Commercial Director of Penkių Kontinentų Komunikacijų Centras, a company deploying cloud solutions, Lithuania is also witnessing a growing attention of companies towards cloud services. In 2015, the number of orders for the Company’s ProfIT service package, which also includes cloud solutions, increased by 20 percent compared with 2014.

It has been more than six months since a company Sveiki Produktai started using cloud services. Director of the company Vilma Valkūnienė says that she chose cloud services with the aim of ensuring higher data security and becoming less dependent on a single technology specialist in emergency and extreme situations. “Small companies are unable to invest in a reliable functioning of their IT systems to the same extent as a company developing cloud solutions; therefore, we opted for services offered by Penkių Kontinentų Komunikacijų Centras,” explained V. Valkūnienė.

The company selling organic natural foods, cosmetic and cleaning products operates a chain of 12 Livinn-Sveiki Produktai stores with trade and accounting operations managed in a centralized manner on a virtual server. Director of the company admits that she had doubts at first, fearing that operations may slow down due to up to 8 employees connecting to the accounting program at the same time; however, it turned out that the program works faster than before.

“One of the key advantages of the cloud solution, which benefited us greatly, is flexibility, when under certain circumstances operative memory and computing power of processor needs to be increased, for example, during the Christmas trading period. This can be done in less than an hour, and after the boom period passes, the program can be easily adapted to everyday needs of the company by adjusting the parameters,” V. Valkūnienė shared her experience.

Cloud solutions are most popular in Japan. Here, cloud infrastructure market increased by 47.1 percent over the third quarter of 2015. In the Asia-Pacific region, it grew by 35.3 percent, in Western Europe – by 22.1 percent, and in the USA – by 20.1 percent.
