More Reliable Internet for Penki Customers

Published: 2 March 2021 y., Tuesday

Penkių kontinentų komunikacijų centras, which provides fiber-optic Internet and IPTV Penki services to capital residents, announces the successful implementation of a project to increase the throughput of communication channels up to 100 Gb/s.

According to Vladimir Kiselev, Chief Network Architect of Penki, increasing the speed will help to avoid bottlenecks, system limitations when the bandwidth fraction is lost. This situation occurs when many users try to access a particular resource. During the pandemic, Internet traffic tripled due to online lessons, seminars, conferences, and telecommuting.

“Speaking about the advantages of the Penki network, it should be noted the maintenance of bandwidth and data transmission duplication. We have several main and backup communication lines with Internet providers in Lithuania and abroad. It ensures the reliability and speed of Penki's Internet, as well as the absence of interruptions in the connection,” says network architect Penki.

The network architecture and data duplication solutions will be updated during this project. The quality and speed of data transmission will increase as a result. Even in the event of a potential failure, traffic will continue to flow through the backup line until the primary link is restored. Penki customers are guaranteed stable access to the Internet.
