Afghanistan: school poisoning

On Monday, around 50 Afghan teenagers were hospitalized after a mystery gas attack on their school in Parwan province, northwest of Kabul. The Taliban and other extremist groups in Afghanistan oppose education for girls. Militants in the south have previously attacked schoolgirls with acid and burnt down schools as a protest against the government commitment to allow girls back to school.
