Czech Presidency calls Middle East meeting in Brussels

President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council and Czech Foreign Minister K. Schwarzenberg has called another meeting on the current developments in the Middle East, to take place on 15 March in Brussels.

The European Union will be represented by Minister Schwarzenberg, General Secretary of the EU Council and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana and Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner and a representative of Sweden.

Egypt will be represented by Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Palestinian National Authority by Foreign Minister Riad Malki and Jordan will be represented by ambassador of Jordan to the European Union Ahmad Masa'deh.

The objective of the dinner meeting is particularly the discussion of the current situation on the Palestinian territories and the role of Egypt in mediating the Middle East negotiations.
