Rodríguez Zapatero presents the program of the EU Spanish Presidency

The Spanish Prime Minister José  Luis Rodríguez Zapatero will today be presenting the programme of the Spanish Presidency of the EU for the first half of 2010.

The recovery of the economy and the job market and the implementation of the Treaty of Lisbon are among the top priorities of the Spanish rotating presidency.

The appearance of the Spanish Prime Minister before the plenary session in Strasbourg will commence at 9.30am with a speech, followed by an dialogue with the MEPs and a joint press conference with the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek.

The website of the Spanish Presidency of the EU will offer live coverage of the plenary at www.eu2010.es
