Two Egyptian trains collide

Published: 26 October 2009 y., Monday

The accident when two trains collided south of Cairo took place when a first class train, headed to a tourist resort, slammed into a mostly empty stationary train which was parked on the same track.

At least 15 people were killed but the death toll is expected to rise. Seven years ago, this same location was the scene of the country's worst rail disaster when a big fire killed about 360 people.
