400,000 Beenz Users ... And Growing!

Published: 8 December 1999 y., Wednesday
beenz.com announced today that it has surpassed its yearly goal for consumer accounts. 400, 000 consumers have now signed up to earn and spend beenz, the web's currency(TM). "Now the work really begins," said Philip Letts, chairman and CEO of beenz.com "With 400,000 consumers, our biggest challenge becomes ensuring that all these consumers who are earning and spending are having an enjoyable time doing it." One of the ways beenz.com is improving the consumer experience is with a new, advanced version of the http://www.beenz.com web site. The new site was launched Wednesday. "Now beenz.com is getting personal with our relaunched web site," said Charles Cohen, founder and chief technology officer of beenz.com. "Everyone gets his/her own version of the site, reflecting individual interests, geography, and particular beenz neighborhoods." beenz is the universal web currency that can be earned by consumers by simply visiting, interacting with, or shopping at participating web sites. Consumers can then spend their beenz with participating traders on DVDs, sporting goods, vacations, books, downloadable music, clothing and thousands of other products and services by paying with beenz. A list of beenz traders includes MP3.com, The Motley Fool, Excite UK, Flooz.com, ChocolateOfTheMonth.com, iCanBuy.com and VNUNet.
