Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson to supply its Ethernet DSL solution to Estonia

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on 21 May that it had won a contract from the Estonian telecomms operator Eesti Telefon to supply a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) network. Ericsson would provide Eesti Telefon with Asymmetric DSL (ADSL) lines across rural areas in Estonia, according to the company.
Ericsson said that the ADSL lines would be delivered using its scalable Ethernet DSL Access solution, which would enable standard ADSL lines to be offered economically at smaller sites and would use Ethernet technology to provide cost-effective high-bandwidth links in the 'second mile' network.
