Charter capitals of 43 banks operating in Azerbaijan have increased 118 billion manats ($25.7m) compared to January 1. The figure reached 1.167 trillion manats ($253.7m) on November 1.
The increase was mainly due to the start of Pakistani National Bank’s operation in the country. 140 billion manats of the amount was held in state-owned banks and 1.027 trillion manats in private banks. The average charter fund per bank made up 27.1 billion manats ($5.9m), the National Bank (NBA) told AssA-Irada.
NBA passed a decision last year to raise the minimum charter capitals of banks to 50 billion manats ($10.5m), effective on January 1, 2006.
