The biggest thermal insulation production manufacturer in Finland “Finnfoam” has started the construction of a thermal insulation production plant in Kaunas FEZ.

In the beginning of 2009 Finnfoam expressed their firm intentions to invest almost EUR 29 million into a new plant and to create 35 work places in Kaunas FEZ by 2012. “Finnfoam” has signed a 2.6 ha land lease agreement with Kaunas FEZ, where the construction has now started.

"We chose Kaunas FEZ for our business expansion in Lithuania because of its ideal connection with main transport routes, availability of qualified specialists in the 2nd biggest city close to the FEZ as well as special tax incentives.” – Finnfoam’s executive Henri Nieminen said already a year ago.

XPS thermal insulation Finnfoam manufactured by the company in its plants is 100% homogeneous and sealed product, leaving no air channels or pores between the cells. Finnfoam’s structure and water-repellent skin-like surface gives it excellent moisture resistance. The material does not decay or rot and contains no nutrients to feed microorganisms, making it impossible for them to accumulate inside the material. Finnfoam does not release particles or gases that are harmful to the health. The product is also packaged to have as little impact on the environment as possible.

“Finnfoam” is planning to export 90% of the production  (for approx. EUR 9 million annualy) manufactured in the new plant in Lithuania to country’s closest neighbours – Poland, Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, and also Scandinavian countries.
