Broadband Test Division today announced that Cesky Telecom has placed an expansion order for its 4TEL II® Voice Customer Care Test System. The contract covers deployment of 4TEL II Software and LDU 100 (Loop Diagnostic Units) hardware to monitor and test telephone lines operated by Cesky Telecom in the Prague region. The test head component of the deployment, called the LDU 100, is the core measurement component of Teradyne's test system platform focused on voice customer care and DSL qualification and service assurance testing. With delivery of this order, the 4TEL II system will be fully deployed throughout Cesky's network of nearly 4 Million Lines in 2004. Cesky has used Teradyne's 4TEL II system to maintain its network since 1997 and will now have over 400 LDU test heads deployed in their network.
4TEL II enables rapid, remote identification of faults within a telecommunications network, helping service providers improve customer service and reduce maintenance costs.
The LDU extends the measurement capability of the 4TEL II line test system with a DSP-based test head. The LDU technology provides a common platform to support voice and DSL test services.
