Sweden—L.M. Ericsson said it is the sole supplier for a full commercial EDGE network by Hungarian wireless operator Westel. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Westel has already launched commercial EDGE services in the heaviest traffic areas of Budapest and is extending service to 130 sites in the city by the end of the year.
Ericsson on Wednesday said it was selected by Ukrainian operator Kyivastar GSM as the sole supplier of GSM/GPRS/EDGE equipment to expand the carrier’s coverage and increase network capacity throughout the Ukraine.
