The first Russian-Belarusian economic forum will be held in the Belarusian capital of Minsk September 6-9, Belarusian Foreign Ministry press secretary Ruslan Yesin said Thursday.

Yesin said the countries' prime ministers would attend the forum. A session of the Russia-Belarus union state Council of Ministers will also be held in Minsk on September 6.

"The forum's topics will include trade and economic cooperation, investment policy, a single trade and customs-tariff policy, a common labor market, a common science and technology space, a unified transportation system, and other issues," the spokesman said.

Yesin said thematic conferences and plenary sessions would be held in the framework of the forum.

Minsk hopes some 600 people will participate in the economic forum, while the number of those invited, including representatives of international organizations and diplomats, has reached 2,000.

"The Russian Federation's National Exhibition in Belarus will be held at the same time as the forum," Yesin said.
