Getin Bank, an element of stock-listed Getin Holding, posted a net profit of zł.38.2 million in Q1, which is 47% more than in the corresponding period of last year.
"To a large extent this is due to developing loan granting," said Leszek Czarnecki, president of Getin Bank, which is controlling the whole holding. Over half of the loans in the bank were generated by financial intermediaries. "Due to this we are interested in taking control over the following intermediaries: We have just signed letter of intent concerning the take over of a 70% stake in Open Finance and a 60% stake in Łód-based Fiolet," said Piotr Stępniak, president of the holding. Both entities are controlled by LC Corp, which is owned by Leszek Czarnecki, and the operation is to strengthen the link with the bank. Open Finance will remain independent and will offer many banks products, while Fiolet will continue to sell only Getin Banks. Getin is also interested in purchasing Wschodni Bank Cukrownictwa and it is not planning acquisitions on the Eastern market.
