Representatives of Japanese embassy in Uzbekistan will sign new grant contracts in Tashkent on 8 October. The government of Japan is earmarking the grants within no-string financial cooperation for social small-scale projects. Among the applicants are:
- secondary school No.241 of Mirzo Ulugbek district, Tashkent. "Improvement of educational conditions" project worth US$87,560;
- secondary school No.107 of Akmal Ikramov district, Tashkent. "Supply with school equipment" project worth US$62,283;
- Tashkent banking college. "Supply with equipment" project worth US$36,025;
- medical sanitary unit of Tashkent Tractor Plant in Tashkent. "Supply with medical equipment" project worth US$89,978;
- Mohlaroyim educational and practical centre for women and teenagers. "Supply with new equipment" project worth US$14,061;
- makhalla youth centre of Rishtan district, Ferghana region. "Reconstruction and supply with equipment" project worth US$75,064.
Total sum of grant contracts that are ready for signing makes up US$364,971.
The ceremony is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Japan's international cooperation, as well as assignment of new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Mr Yuichi Kusumoto.
