Lithuanian Government has recently issued and distributed a new emission of eurobonds worth EUR 400 mill. Financial experts declare that Lithuania offers bonds to investors at a lower yield premium than Italy and Greece, which are in the Eurozone. Investment funds, banks, and insurance companies, which usually invest in Western Europe countries, are attracted by Lithuania.
International financial and business publications has named the emission as unprecedented. “International Financing Review” has reported that world-known investors and purchasers of securities are attracted by the new EU member, which is not a Eurozone country yet, more than by the old members.
“The Financial Times” noted that the successful financial performance of Lithuania can be the last and the essential evidence that the country is absolutely ready to introduce the Euro. “Euroweek” declared that Lithuania demonstrates an excellent example for the other EU member states.
