Seeking to strengthen and further expand product sales in the Asian region, the Lithuanian biotechnology company Fermentas established its subsidiary in China. Fermentas China has been already operating a warehouse in Shenzhen city located near Hong Kong and successfully distributing Fermentas’ production throughout China.

According to Fermentas’ officials, last year a representative office of the company was established to actively promote Fermentas’ products in China. Now the company will strengthen logistics, accounting and customer advisory activities.

Fermentas China will sell Lithuanian biotech products on the Chinese market through local distributors. Currently, the products of Fermentas are distributed by 5 China's biotechnology companies. Seeking to intensify Fermentas’ sales in China, it is planned to increase the number of distributors up to 15 by 2010.

According to Fermentas’ executives, company’s production is distributed in all China’s regions already today. With the help of the newly established warehouse Chinese customers will be able to quicker get any necessary product, and that will reduce distribution labour costs.

There are more than 700 biotech products made in Lithuania that are distributed in China.

Fermentas China is the 8th offshore company of the holding Fermentas International. Fermentas has offices in the United States, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, France, Finland and Sweden. Fermentas is exporting 99 % of its production to more than 70 countries around the world.
