Cumulative foreign direct investment (FDI) reached EUR 3.85 million as of October 1, 2003 in Lithuania, according to preliminary data of the Department of Statistics.
As of October 1, 2003, top investor countries were Denmark (17.4% of total investment), Sweden (15.5%), Germany (10.2%), USA (8.6%), Finland (8.5%), Estonia (7.7%), the United Kingdom (5%), Russia (5%), Norway (3.2%), Switzerlan (3.1%).
Major investment went into manufacturing – 30%, trade – 18.6%, transport and communication services – 17.4% and financial intermediation – 15.7%.
