Malev Hungarian Airlines Rt announced that it plans to join the SkyTeam Alliance of Air France SA and Delta Air Lines Inc. as its first associate member in November.
Associate membership will give Malev the same rights in coordinating ticket sales and frequent flyer programs and brand use as full members have, according to Malev Chief Executive Officer Lбszlу Sбndor, but the company will have less influence on the alliance's policies. In October, Malev failed to enter the Oneworld group led by British Airways Plc and the Star Alliance led by Deutsche Lufthansa AG and United Airlines.
