An investment project totaling more than USD1.1bn will be implemented in Moldova. This will be the largest investment project in the history of this country. A new city complex for 36,000 people will be constructed in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau, representatives of the Moldovan government told RBC. The complex will have its own streets and social facilities such as parks, kindergartens and shops. The complex will be built by the Moldovan-Italian joint venture Prospera-Habitat. On November 26, 2004, the company and the Moldovan government will sign an investment agreement. A group of Italian companies, including Italcantieri, Ruggieri Cosntruzioni General, Agac and Casprini Holding will participate in the project.
The Roman company Simest has considered the project and approved its financing. The investor does not request any guarantees and undertakes full responsibility for possible commercial risks.
