Sobinbank in Moscow introduced a new service, which is to make traveling abroad easier. At present, it is the only Russian bank providing Visa Travel Money. The card is unique for Russia. It has all the advantages of traveler_s checks; the money on the account can be withdrawn from 500,000 Visa automatic teller machines throughout the world. This card is anonymous, and works with a PIN-code; to obtain the card it is not necessary to open a bank account. When going abroad with a Visa Travel Money card, a cardholder does not have to fill in a customs declaration. A card holder may give his card to any other person. Issuing of a Visa Travel Money card in any Sobinbank_s subsidiary takes only a few minutes. The bank takes a commission - 1% from the total amount put on the card. The minimum sum to be put on a card is $100; the maximum, $10,000. Though the card is not issued to a person_s name, one has to show his passport to have a card issued. Visa Travel Money_s card is payable to the bearer, and can be used by any person on the condition that the card owner provides him with a PIN-code. A client has a possibility to obtain additional cards (up to 9, at a cost of $5 each).
