PKO BP bank sells seven hotels worth PLN 52 m

Published: 2 June 2005 y., Thursday

Until July 11th, investors may submit their offers to buy seven holiday and training resorts owned by PKO BP, Poland’s biggest retail bank. Hotels in Cedzyn, Jurata, Wladyslawowo, Krynica Zdroj, Duszniki Zdroj and Zakopane are put for sale. PKO BP will choose the offer with highest price. Investors who want to acquire all hotels will be preferred ones.

The hotels have jointly 850 beds. 190 people are employed there. PKO BP hopes to earn at least PLN 52 m (EUR 12.5 m) for the buildings. Last year, the bank had PLN 17 m of net income generated by those resorts. ‘All of them were profitable. In some, all beds were booked in summer or winter. The management have decided to sell them because as Poland’s biggest financial institution we must concentrate on banking activities, not tourism’, Marek Klucinski explained.
