Poland's Deputy Economic Minister is praising Bethesda-based Lockheed Martin's $6 billion worth of investment pledges to his country.
Bloomberg reports that during an interview in Warsaw, Krzysztof Krystowski said the pledges may help Poland's economy by doubling sales at the country's financially troubled military suppliers.
Poland has ordered 48 Lockheed F-16 fighter jets.
The country joined the European Union May 1 and is forecasting economic growth of 5.8 percent for the year.
It chose the F-16 over the Mirage 2000 built by France's Dassault Aviation and the Gripen supplied by a venture of Sweden's Saab and London-based BAE Systems, Europe's biggest military supplier.
