The Slovakian finance ministry has raised its 2004 forecast for economic growth to 4.7%, from 4.1%, officials said.
According to the updated figures, gross domestic product (GDP) was expected to rise 4.5% in 2005, 5.1% in 2006 and 5.4% in 2007.
Inflation this year is expected to reach 7.8%, below the 8.1% forecast in the 2004 state budget.
It is then expected to steadily fall to 3.3% in 2005, 2.8 percent in 2006 and 2.5% in 2007.
Unemployment is expected to rise to 16.6% in 2005, falling to 16.2% in 2006 and 15.8% in 2007. The current unemployment rate is 13.9%.
