The survey „Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland – Threats or Opportunities for Swedish businesses?“ carried out by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise showed that Swedish enterprises, having business cooperation with Lithuanian companies, are highly satisfied with their Lithuanian partners.
The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise questioned 250 Swedish business enterprises on their experience obtained while maintaining business relations with partners in the four countries. The greatest part of the Swedish companies questioned said they chose Lithuania (80%) as the most suitable country for the new investments. 72% invested in Poland, 66% in Estonia, and 59% in Latvia. Even 87% of the respondents admitted that they were planning to expand their business activities to Lithuania during the next two years. 79% were willing to expand in Poland, 76% in Estonia, and 71% in Latvia. A great part of the respondents, which had business partnership only with Latvian an Estonian companies so far, expressed a wish to expand their business geography to Lithuania.

The Swedish respondents, asked to compare the Lithuanian market with the business environment in Sweden, indicated the vast business opportunities that they discovered in Lithuania. They named Lithuania as a perfect market for their products with almost no competition, also offering favourable manufacture, rent and transportation costs, and lower taxes. Appearing very close to the homeland and other European markets, Lithuania, from the Swedish respondents’ point of view, also offers highly competent and motivated specialists.
