The 12-month deficit

The Hungarian trade deficit totalled 778.8 million euros (698.3 million dollars) at the end of February, up nearly 32 percent from one year earlier, the Central Statistical Bureau said Tuesday. The trade deficit for February alone was 311.7 million euros, down from 335.5 million euros in February 2000. For the month of January, the deficit was 467.1 million euros, compared with 256 million euros in 2000. The 12-month deficit included exports worth 5.084 billion euros and imports worth 5.863 billion euros, the bureau said.
