The Dow Jones Stoxx 50 index rose for a fourth day Friday, taking its gain for the week to 3.4 percent. Investors expect Royal Dutch/Shell Group to report a jump in fourth-quarter profit Thursday, while British Airways Plc is forecast to post a loss. Other companies reporting earnings over the week include Lloyds TSB Group Plc and Commerzbank AG. The DJ Stoxx 50 index has risen 1 percent this year, even though 34 of its members have fallen.
