Lithuania – In the First Wave of Applicants to Join the Euro

Lithuania together with its Baltic neighbouirs is likely to be in the first wave of new EU members applying to join the euro, according to a report by Bank Austria Creditanstalt.
Three main conditions for joining the euro are: a budget defficit less than 3% of GDP, a public debt below 60% of GDP and the fluctuation of the national currency against the euro not more than 15% for two years.
