After nine years, what remains of loans owed by Russia to the Czech Republic could be repaid, according to Hospodarske noviny.
The settlement will include a payment of 4.5 billion Kc and three cargo planes. Originally, Russia owed the Czech Republic $3.6 billion (97.2 billion Kc), but the Russian firm Falkon Capital bought a $2.5 billion claim from the Czech government for about 22 percent of its value, and the debt fell to $1.1 billion. Government officials would not comment on the report, saying the talks are secret.
