The World Bank has postponed the review of the Moldova's Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (EGPRSP) by the WB Board of Executive Directors, the World Bank Moldovan Country Office has reported today.
The Moldovan Government submitted the Strategy to the Bank's and the IMF's Management in early June this year. In accordance with the established guidelines, the staffs of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund prepare a Joint Staff Assessment (JSA) that, as the name indicates, assesses the content and quality of the PRSP prepared by the country. This assessment work is still underway, hence the postponement of the Board date.
Consequently the review of the World Bank's new Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) for Moldova for 2004-2007, that will support the EGPRSP implementation, has been postponed.
The World Bank will soon notify the Moldovan Government about the new dates for the reviews of the EGPRSP and its associated JSA, as well as of the review of the World Bank's Moldova CAS, the World Bank Office said.
