GfK Panel Services Consumer Research GmbH of Nuremberg and Wincor Nixdorf Retail Consulting GmbH of Düsseldorf are jointly developing standard interfaces for transferring GfK panel data to Wincor Nixdorf's CMplus category management solution.
The provision of standard interfaces will mean that joint evaluation of GfK panel data and POS data will shortly become an everyday norm in category management using CMplus. There will be no longer any need for cumbersome synchronization of data or the risk of error associated with manual data preparation.
The two companies want to use their collaboration to provide technically compatible solutions to retailers and the consumer goods industry. Standardized evaluation of facts - internal and external performance metrics - is intended to help the retail and consumer goods industries direct their efforts with greater ease and efficiency on the needs of the consumer.
Both parties are hoping the collaboration will bring increased sales opportunities for their own products. With this in mind, GfK and Wincor Nixdorf have agreed to work together in their sales and marketing efforts. GfK will be represented at Wincor World from February 3 through 5, 2004 with its own exhibits, presenting the enhanced functions of the category management proposition.
