Japan: Development Of Super Internet.

Japan_s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) outlined a raft of major policies it intends to push to the population over the coming year to develop advanced info-communications technologies. One of the main plans is for a Super Internet. The agency said such a network would offer better security and reliability and the capacity to carry data at speeds more than 1,000 times those of today_s network by 2001.
