85% of the companies working in Russia have Internet access.

According to data presented at the 2nd Internet Marketing 99 conference, Russian-language Internet is
developing more dynamically than Internet in European countries. In the first quarter of 1999 there were approximately 1.2 mln. Russian-language Internet uses, and in May, already more than 1.5 mln. 25% of Russian Internet users are qualified specialists with a higher education. Almost one out of five (17%) are middle and top managers. The types of information most in demand on the Internet, after computer program support, are economic news, prices on goods and services, and, more recently, political news.
