Delta of Taiwan to manufacture transceivers in China

Delta Electronics currently produces 155 Mbps and 255 Mbps transceivers, an optical device mainly for data communication in northern Taiwan, delivering more than 20,000 sets a month out of a factory that is reported to have a monthly capacity of 150,000. Aside from its existing factory in Guandong province (South China), Delta is construction a much larger one in Jiangsu Province, a joint venture with a mainland company holding 50% stake. Being constructed in three phases the new factory is reported to finally house a working population of 70,000. Due to increasing order volumes for transceivers, Delta will have its Wujiang, Jiangsu province factory produce 700,000 sets monthly beginning from July or August. Due to its status as a Taiwan-China joint venture, Deltga is allowed to sell up to 50% of its output in China.
