Wincor Nixdorf is expanding its portfolio of professional services for banks, and will be presenting this spectrum of products and services at Wincor World 2009. The portfolio begins with process and IT consulting and extends from implementation and integration of the solutions to the relevant IT landscape and all the way to application management for software. The goal of this offer is to provide banks with significant added value through solutions that are optimally customized to their business processes and models. Wincor Nixdorf regards itself as currently very well placed to take on this business field worldwide; the company has 700 employees working on software development and professional services for banks.

“In order to enable further growth, we’re looking all over the world for additional staff in a variety of areas – banking consultants, project managers and software engineers,” explains Karl-Heinz Kern, who is responsible for the company’s consulting business with banks.

The Professional Services organization forms the basis for the expansion of Wincor Nixdorf's business in this area, independent of its current portfolio of hardware and software. “In our projects, we’re also at home outside the self-service area that is traditional for Wincor Nixdorf,” said Kern. “We address the entire bank branch solution spectrum and are already working in projects that are more typical of the back office processes of financial institutions.”

The company also develops customer-specific solutions for requirements that are not covered by the existing product portfolio, drawing on software from other vendors or tailored software solutions as necessary. One example is the customer consulting portals that are tailored to meet individual customer requirements using components that are standard in the industry. In the area of business intelligence solutions, the company has already successfully concluded initial projects involving the implementation of Business Objects software. Another project involves the realization of a document management solution for a German state central bank.

Another element of Professional Services for the banking arena is the customer-specific installation of modules from the Wincor Nixdorf PC/E Retail Banking Solution Suite. This product group comprises applications in the areas of self-service, sales and service processes, cash management, mobile banking and security. In addition, the Professional Services portfolio offers services in the development and integration of transactional banking solutions and payment authorization and processing.
