E-book challenge at Frankfurt fair

Readers could wave goodbye to carrying around heavy books with one of the portable electronic readers on display at the Frankfurt book fair.


The newest e-readers, like Sony's Reader, can not only be used as a kind of mobile library, but also as an MP3 player.

 

But some in the book industry say e-readers are unlikely ever to replace traditional printed paperbacks.
