As it was mentioned in the last JSC "Penki kontinentai" Events of the Month edition, the biggest IT exhibition in the world "CeBIT 2001" will take place in Hanover, Germany on 22-28 March, 2001. On February 6-8, 2001 banking information technologies exhibit "Wincor World 2001" took place in Paderborn, Germany. JSC "Penki kontinentai" presented the brand new self-service banking technologies solutions in this exhibition. Read more>>>

Seminars On February 26th the seminar dedicated to European Union FP5 program information day "User-friendly information society" took place in the new Information center of JSC "Penki kontinentai". European Union 5th broad program is dedicated to scientific research, technologies development and demonstration activities. The main treat of this program is the wish to solve broad EU problems; therefore Lithuanian organizations must choose the partner from EU countries. The program will last until 2002.

Pets Exhibition On February 17-18 in "Litexpo" Exhibitions Hall the pets exhibition "Zoopanorama '2001" took place. At this exhibition pets and care means were presented, lots of contests were organized. At Information center located in the first hall of the exhibition the site for pets' care www.5ci.lt/dogs was presented. The best programmers and authors of separate programs were awarded. Among prizes there were "Zyxel" modem "Omni 56", T-shirts, decorated vases, calendars, computer literature, the catalogs of Lirhuanian internet resources established by JSC "Penki kontinentai". INTERNET PORTALS' NEWS
On March the 3rd the conundrum competition was organized at chess www.chess.ltweb site. The first three participants, who solved these conundrums were awarded with JSC "Penki kontinentai" prizes. The first place winner the web cam "Logitech" was given, second place - "Boeder" headphones and the third place winner received "Logitech WingMan" game pad.

The site of logical games (www.5ci.lt/lgames) was created for those who are fond of playing online games. Some time ago it was only simple set of games written in JAVA script. After the success of "Chess.lt" this project has been improved: now it is possible to chat in this site. Creators of the "Logic games" developed an universal IRC server which allows the players not only chat, but also play one against the other and watch other playing. There will be the possibility to play in teams in the nearest future. The latest news of Logic games site - connection of old single player games with the server. User registration became more secure; the fans of "Tetris", "JLines", "Cooltyper" and other games can communicate with other players. Soon the players will be able to create their own channels and communicate according to the personal interests as it has been done in common IRC.
INTERNET CAFE NEWS
Our Internet cafés (A. Stulginskio st. 5 and Gediminas av. 4) has invited the customers to surf the internet, use scanning and printing service for new prices. On their birthday regular clients can surf Internet for free for two hours. Also there is a system of discounts available for regular customers - from 10 to 50 % for Internet services (Regular customers are those who visited our internet cafés and spent at least 200 Lt for various services).
