The Linux Summit 2003, arranged by SOT in co-operation with HP, Oracle and F-Secure was a declared a success for both organizers and attendees

The two-day conference, held in Dipoli, Finland on February 27-28, attracted close to 400 visitors from Finland's largest corporations and public organizations. Participants at the inaugural Linux Summit examined a range of sustainable, commercially viable GNU/Linux and Open Source solutions.
Eighty-five percent of attendees rated the content and organization of the Summit as "good" or "excellent". Participants voted Linux International's Jon "Maddog" Hall as the most interesting speaker, followed by Brother Viktor of Valamo Monastery and Nokia's Esa Nurmi. The most popular training seminar was a "Linux and Security" tutorial given by Brazilian security expert Pedro Bueno.
Sponsors were also pleased with the outcome. The Linux Summit website, http://www.linuxsummit.org, contains selected training material and lectures from the Summit, along with pictures and video. Interested parties can also sign up at the website for email announcements regarding the next Linux Summit, planned to be held in Helsinki, Finland in February 2004.
