Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, has taken home one of the most coveted technology prizes in Austin with its Smart Enterprise Guardian (SEG) – the Tech Innovation Award for Hardware from the Austin Business Journal.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by the Austin Business Journal for the SEG, which was invented and developed in Austin, and designed to help enterprises of any size here and globally protect data and identity information within their organization,” said Austin-based Paul Beverly, president Gemalto North America and executive vice president corporate marketing.

Jointly developed by Gemalto and Lexar, the SEG is a first-of-its-kind multipurpose security device that solves problems every enterprise faces: how to better secure remote access to their networks and how to better protect information employees store on portable devices.  In a single device, Gemalto has combined strong authentication, digital signatures, encrypted Flash storage and encryption tools for desktop or laptop files.  The SEG has built-in support in Microsoft Vista using Gemalto .NET technology.  For more information, please visit http://www.gemalto.com/enterprise/SEG.html
