ITT fashion spring “CeBIT 2004”

18th world’s largest information technologies’ and telecommunications’ exhibition “CeBIT 2004”, which takes place in Hanover (Germany) annually, has already ended. The exhibition took place on March 18-24. By tradition, Penki kontinentai group has also presented the solutions thereof.

The exhibition had disposed the organizers to feel optimistic during the first days thereof already. Already then 220 thousand visitors had visited the exhibition. 30 per cent, that is more than 66 thousand visitors, came from abroad. A survey has shown that about 50 per cent of the visitors had planned to acquire the certain products, subscribe for the services as well as to strike up new acquaintances.

This year 6411 exhibitors from 64 countries worldwide presented their achievements, solutions and ideas at the premises, which cover 334 thousand 168 sq. m. Such the world’s most famous companies as “Microsoft”, “Oracle“, “Sun Microsystems“, “Siemens“, “Hewlett-Packard“, “Phillips“, “Samsung“, “Wincor Nixdorf“, “ZyXEL” presented their products and services at the exhibition, too. As never before there were a lot of ITT representatives who came from Asia region, especially from China. Asian countries usually present their solutions at “CeBIT Asia”. However this year the Asian companies decided to present their ideas at the wider market.

The up-to-date e-business, e-government, e-banking, data security solutions as well as other fields related product and ideas were presented during “CeBIT 2004” exhibition. Much attention was also given to the telecommunications’, networks’, information technologies’ and human resources’ sector. Furthermore, the visitors could participate at the majority of the seminars, symposiums, presentations and specialized exhibitions, which revealed the ideas prevailing at the world’s market and the ideas waiting for the proper moment.

The Lithuanian presented itself particularly successfully

The largest world’s companies, which are engaged in banking technologies and self-service equipment related activities, presented their ideas and solutions at the 18th hall. The companies of Penki kontinentai groupPenkiø kontinentø bankinës technologijos (BS/2), “Ashburn International” (specializes in e-payments sector), as well as the partner “Universalios valdymo sistemos” (UVS) and business partner “OpenWay” - also presented their production there. Technological and banking solutions of the companies of Penki kontinentai group as well as the stand design thereof caused a great interest of the visitors. The employee of the German TV channel NDR were especially interested in the design of the stand.

Penkiø kontinentø bankinës technologijos presented a concept of the modern bank’s self-service department. Complex solution of the modern self-service bank’s department, which uses the highest quality self-service equipment of the German company “Wincor Nixdorf” and technological and banking solutions created and applied to the self-service equipment by BS/2, caused a great interest of the banks as well as of the banks’ clients.

In Lithuania the first department of such kind was arranged at the office of Penkiø kontinentø bankinës technologijos, UAB (A. Stulginsio g.5). The Lithuanian banks as well as the banks of the neighboring countries are very interested in this new concept. “Nord/LB Lietuva” opened its first self-service department of new generation in Lithuania at the premises of “Europa” (Konstitucijos pr. 7A, Vilnius) supermarket, which was inaugurated on the February 28, 2004. The department is equipped with three devices of the German company “Wincor Nixdorf” - the usual ATM, information terminal and multifunctional ATM, which were installed and are maintained by the specialists of BS/2

The automatic cashiers’ safe system “Smart Safe” was also presented at the exhibition. The system consists of BS/2 technological and software solutions as well as of “Wincor Nixdorf” automatic safes. This system ensures the security of the bank’s department since the cashier’s money is stored at the automatic safe. Inherent part of the modern self-service department, the idea of which was presented at the exhibition is the universal employee. The self-service department of such kind changes the standpoint at the client and the servicing thereof. There are no any walls with the bulletproof glass or iron-barred walls. Furthermore, part of the banks’ operations is be performed by the self-service equipment, thus the bank’s employee can give much more consideration to the satisfying of the clients’ needs.

“Bill Payment” – e-payments’ system for the self-service terminals, which makes it convenient to settle the accounts with the bank’s payment card or in cash as well as EMV (Europay MasterCard Visa) solutions, which ensure money transfer security and allow implementation of the additional solutions (ex., clients’ loyalty program, etc.) drew the visitor’s attention. Especially thrifty and high quality IP telephony service of Penki kontinentai was also noticed. The IP telephony allows phoning abroad at very low costs. The visitors were given an opportunity to get acquainted with the advantages of this service having phoned to any subscriber worldwide for free directly from the stand of the company using the self-service equipment. Modern optical internet network provided by Skaineta, UAB the daughter company of Penki kontinentai, UAB was also presented at the exhibition. The visitors wondered that such comparatively small city as Vilnius had got its separate optical network of very high connection.

As usually, self-service equipment video monitoring system “ATMeye” attracted attention of the visitors. The system is successfully distributed to the 30 countries worldwide.

“AB.LV” (Latvia) representatives were especially interested in Cash Recycling opportunities offered by Penki kontinentai as well as in “Bill Payment” system, which allows the clients to print detailed reports on the transactions performed and to settle the accounts for the certain services (ex., public utilities, GSM mobile connection, etc.)

VoIP “EBI Communication” (USA) was interested in an opportunity to collaborate with Penki kontinentai group. through “Skynet” network. “Net Centrex”, which specializes in video information sector, which collaborates with the Italian telecom optical cable operator “FastWeb”, and which together with “Cisco” had recently organized the meeting with many world’s companies as the potential customers, was also interested in “Skynet” network. Penki kontinentai, UAB took part at the mentioned meeting, too.

The well known banking technologies’ company CR2, which was established in great Britain in 1997, is interesting in implementing the joint banking technologies’ projects together with BS/2 in the African country Tanzania. The famous Indian company “BRADMA OF INDIA” is interested in cooperation with BS/2 on the Indian market.

“Keba”, the well-known Austrian information technologies’ company, was showed the interest in “ATMeye” ATM video security system. A Jordanian company was especially interested in the safes and multi-safes offered by BS/2 BS/2.

The bank of Tver city (Russia) was showed the interest in bank’s self-service department concept offered by Penki kontinentai. The famous Russian telecommunications’ company was interested in an opportunity of acquiring “ProCash 3100” ATMs and the software, which would allow the company’s clients to settle the accounts for the mobile phone connection with the bank’s payment card or in cash 24/7.

The chiefs of Penki kontinentai partner “Wincor Nixdorf” (Germany) visited BS/2 stand – President Karl-Heinz Stilleris, Marketing manager Uwe Krause, Senior manager Javieras Lopez Bartolome. The representatives of the Lithuanian company “Labbis” also visited the stand of BS/2.

The stands of the partners of Penki kontinentai group – “Wincor Nixdorf”, “Bull”, “Ingenico”, “Aladdin” and “ZyXEL” were excellent. Besides, Penki kontinentai took part at the “Distributors’ Conference” organized by “ZyXEL”.
