This is up from Spring 1999, when 16 percent of 15-74 year olds were using the Internet.
The study by BMF Gallup Media found significant differences in the use of the Internet by various age groups. This list shows the number of Internet users in Estonia by age:
58 percent of 15-19 year olds
32 percent of 20-29 year olds
27 percent of 30-39 year olds
15 percent of 40-49 year olds
8 percent of 50-59 year olds
1 percent of 60-74 year olds
The greatest increase in user numbers occurred in the 40-49 year old age group, with twice as many users in their forties accessing the Internet since Spring 1999. Seventeen percent of 15-74 year olds have a domestic PC, while 7 percent of this group have home Internet access. Half of Estonia's population have used a PC at least once in their lives, with 15-19 year olds showing the greatest usage levels at 94 percent.
