The Learning Company Inc. announced the release of Cyber Patrol for Microsoft Proxy Server version 4.8. The new easy-to-administer Internet filter responds to an organization_s need to effectively implement its Internet access policy."Our customers asked us for an Internet filter with enhanced administration capability to manage their Internet access," said Susan Getgood, Vice President of Marketing and Development at Cyber Patrol. Cyber Patrol for Proxy Server 4.8 offers an improved group administrator that supports NT groups, and allows the choice of either static or dynamic IP addressing according to system requirements. It allows an IT manager to easily assign a filter setting to existing NT groups and users. The user receives the proper setting regardless of the workstation used. In addition to the new features that ease administration, Cyber Patrol 4.8 users can download Telemate.net software for use with the filter. Telemate.net is a maker of software for creating system reports. The report writer will help companies track Internet usage, including what sites are being visited by employees and how long they are spending on-line. The Telemate.net reporting software, downloadable from www.telemate.com/mp/cyberpatrol/, uses Microsoft proxy server data to generate the reports. Users of Cyber Patrol can purchase the report writer with many additional options available to meet their system needs. Cyber Patrol for Microsoft Proxy Server is licensed on a per server basis according to the number of seats. A typical 100 seat, one year license costs $1,395. The list price includes a 12-month subscription to the CyberNOT and Sports & Leisure lists, and technical support. Cyber Patrol is used by millions of parents, teachers and businesses to protect Internet users from inappropriate content online. Because of its innovative technology and filtering list developed through years of research, Cyber Patrol is the filter used by America Online, AT&T WorldNet, Prodigy, CompuServe, Bell Atlantic, British Telecom and hundreds of ISPs worldwide.
