Latvian Association of the Internet.

The message of agency BNS informs about strengthening of the Latvian market of information technologies: representatives of the Latvian firms, business of which is connected with the Internet, have founded the Latvian association of the Internet.

Taking into account that fact that business in the market of information technologies, especially in the field of the Internet, does not know borders it is possible to ascertain occurrence of the powerful competitor in the Baltic region.

The constituent assembly of association has already passed. The basic bodies are elected. Ina Gudelë, the manager of the enterprise "IG komunikacijos " became the executive director.

The founders of association, apparently, aspire to get political support of the business, too. The participants of assembly have made the decision to invite Imants Frejbergs, the spouse of the president of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga, to become a honorary member of association. It appears he is the expert in the field of information technologies.

The association was entered by the largest Latvian firms, which render services in the Internet, suppliers of programs and developers of resources of the Internet.. Now there are 16 members in the association.

The founders of association have declared its purposes: strengthening, development and popularisation of the Internet in Latvia.

The members of association have declared about the intention to cooperate with the Latvian and foreign organizations and to the enterprises of this sphere, and also with the state and self-administrative establishments. The priority is put: the introduction into the European association of the organizations rendering services in the Internet (Euro SPA).
