During a five-city tour of EMEA, encompassing Denmark, the UK, Norway, France, and Portugal, Steve Ballmer will meet with customers, partners, business and government leaders to detail how the company is working with local businesses and governments to bring the benefits of technology to Europe.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark — 29 September 2008 — Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will travel throughout EMEA this week. The goal of his trip is to continue the ongoing dialogue with customers, partners, government leaders, media and local employees about the potential of technology, the company’s business strategy and Microsoft’s Citizenship commitments. During this time, he will provide details on Microsoft’s S+S strategies, and will discuss the importance of continued investment in EMEA to drive greater opportunity through technology.

In Copenhagen, Steve Ballmer will meet with around 600 ICT professionals, customers and partners to give an overview of Microsoft’s virtualisation strategy and its benefit to customers and partners.

OSLO, Norway — 30 September 2008

Steve Ballmer will participate in an MSDN and TechNet Live session with 1,000 ICT professionals and developers. He will talk about the value of Microsoft’s technology platform and how the company’s S+S strategy seamlessly connects the user experience, from the work station to the Web.

During his tour, Steve Ballmer will also take part in a several events that highlight Microsoft’s commitment to continued investments and innovation throughout EMEA. The first of these events is the consumer launch of the Microsoft flagship store, the Elkjøp Mega Store. He will meet with customers and store managers to discuss how these outlets are designed to assist consumers with their buying decisions and bring to life the seamless experience of the Windows platform.

Steve Ballmer will hold discussions on Microsoft’s S+S with 325 executives and Gold Certified Partners at the London Partner Summit. He will highlight the potential of S+S strategy to help businesses optimise their infrastructure, and Microsoft partners’ vital role in helping customers to implement that strategy throughout their ICT portfolio.

During the TechNet Server and Tools event in London, Steve Ballmer will speak to an audience of 700 ICT managers and professionals about how the world of IT is changing and how Microsoft is responding to this change with major advances in Microsoft Server products.

PARIS, France — 2 October 2008

Steve Ballmer will speak with members of the press about Microsoft’s continued commitment to innovation and will outline the company’s future investments in EMEA. Separately, he’ll speak to 200 people at the Microsoft Online Marketing Summit, to discuss Microsoft’s vision for a connected lifestyle, and how the company is working with advertisers, content creators and retail partners to deliver this experience to customers around the world.

Steve Ballmer wraps up his EMEA tour at the ‘Technological Portugal’ event in Lisbon, where he’ll speak before an audience of business owners, government leaders and policy makers. His keynote will focus on the continued need for public/private partnership and how technology can foster social and economic development at all levels of society.
