This is according to a new study from I-Metria, which also shows that there are now 800 Polish-based online retailers, up from 650 this time last year. Almost three quarters of online stores in Poland say they enjoy repeat business.
Of those retailers that sell goods at both online and offline outlets, 32 percent sell goods at cheaper prices online. Only 1.7 percent charge more for goods at their Internet sites than at their offline stores.
Only 19.7 percent of all Polish online retailers allow customers to pay by credit card. Most sites allow customers to pay cash on delivery for their goods, receiving them by state post or courier.
Books are still the most popular online purchases, followed by computer, software, and multimedia products.
