Published: 28 June 2000 y., Wednesday
Applying to the managers of the Russian buseness who participated in the seminar in the Russian Academy of sciences K.barret told that concidering the Internet to be the driving force of the radical changes in the modern business, he expects the exponential growth of the Russian Internet-economy, too. He stressed that according to the available forecasts, in the nearest four years the volume of the world electronic commerce bertween the enterprises will reach 7 trillions dollars. It is also expected that the number of the users of the Internet among the Russian interpreneurials will increase this year by 75 %, and, at the same time, the Russian progressives of the electronic business will reach the rate in annual frowth of 50-60%.

According to K.Barrett, in Russia an increase in the amount of the Internet users and the growth of investments in the Internet—companies is observed, there is a highly qualified labour, infrastructure and constantly growing base of new Internet - services and suppliers of decisions. Besides, the user's payment for the Internet in Russia is reduced little by little, , in this connection the increasing number of local users can afford unlimited access to the Network.”At the same time, as for the usage of Internet in the educational institutions, Russia lags behind other countries, - K.Barrett noticed.- It is nesessary to make the Internet and the personal computers more available fore the apprentice and sstudents.” He paid attention that today only 3 % acces to the Network is available only for three percent of the schools. Continuing to change the methods of support of global business, already now Internet - revolution mades the companies to work differently, than earlier. In this connection with this the future of corporate structures depends on their ability to adapt for new conditions in the shortest periods.

"For Russian enterprises is necessary to take strategy of expansion of electronic business on arms in order to receive competitive advantages in modern conditions of new Internet - economy, - K.Barrett said. –Creating powerful infrastructures and solutions on electronic business, they can raise efficiency of the activity and satisfy the requirements showed by exponential growth of electronic commerce between the firms.

K.Barrett has also described the main stages of development of electronic business - from maintenance of presence in Web before creation of "markets" for handling of a chain of deliveries. According to K.Barrett, " those companies will achieve success, which carry out hundred-per-cent transition to electronic business at the expense of integration of all aspects of business interrelation with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners and branches into the environment of electronic business.

K.Barrett thinks that at system design of electronic business it is necessary to observe balance between such contradictory factors, benefit for clients, quality of service, speed of expansion and search of new opportunities for business. These forces make demand to all the system of electronic business and an infrastructure, forcing the companies to go on the compromise in the questions of managing the expenses, activity and benefits, which they will bring to the client.

"The Infrastructure of your electronic business should grow smoothly and simultaneously with the increase in the number of electronic transactions ", - has marked K.Barrett. In order to create an infrastructure for a successful competition in developing Internet - economy, firms should build the base from horizontal, open solutions based on standards. Horizontal solution provides unprecedented productivity, innovation, flexibility, and possibility to give the computing platform for electronic business of a new generation at any time and any place.

In process of toughening the requirements to an infrastructure IT-managers should create the harmonic computing environment with numerous client systems, including high-efficiency PCs, devices of access in the Internet and servers, which can satisfy the searches stipulated by the extension at the expense of the Internet of business ties, automation of business processes and, as consequence, growth of intensity of traffic of the data.

To show leaders of the Russian business how to expand solutions for electronic business as fast it is possible, K.Barrett has shown the Internet - infrastructure on the basis of the set of products of an Intel. He has shown the passing of transaction from the order of the client through a chain of suppliers to the internal database, and also backward transaction during the realization of auction. K.Barrett has also shown how the PC equipped with the processor of an Intel of a Pentium III with clock rate 1 GHz, and a server infrastructure on the basis of the processor of an Intel of a Pentium III Хеоn, and also servers on the basis of the processor of Intel Itanium can extend in order to meet to the future requirements of electronic business.

The infrastructure of electronic business consists of new communication products and services, which promote improvement of electronic commerce at the expense of organization of faster connections, safe authentification and decrease of a response time of the server. . The set of products of an Intel includes devices and the equipment for organization of an infrastructure and network link or improvement of operation of electronic firms and rises of efficiency of their activity.
