"Communicating Visions" is the theme of Wincor World 2004, which will be held at the Welle Exhibition Center in Paderborn from February 3 through 5, 2004. Wincor Nixdorf and over 60 partners will present 350 exhibits over more than 10,000 square meters, demonstrating leading-edge products, services, consulting services and solutions for banking and retail organizations. In addition to the exhibition, visitors will be able to attend a workshop and lecture program as well as a symposium with topics spotlighting the future of retail and banking. For banks, the main themes are cash processes, deposit and recycling technologies and multichannel banking and security. With cash processes, Wincor Nixdorf will show how standard transactions can be transferred to self-service in a customer friendly way and how cash systems can be optimally maintained. In addition, the company will present analysis methods and tools for the choice of cash system based economic aspects and for the optimal combination and configuration of cash systems at the branch level. With the help of software-supported analysis and the use of innovative cash recycling and depositing technologies, Wincor Nixdorf will show customers how they can reduce their costs substantially. In the area of deposit and recycling technology, Wincor Nixdorf will demonstrate solutions to automate the entire deposit process, from processing individual receipts and bundling bank notes and checks to cash recycling. The ProCash/FOnet software solution offers fully automated cash recycling, including self-service coin and bank note processing in a once labor-intensive area. Sales channels such as home banking, mobile banking and call centers are becoming increasingly important. With its multichannel ProClassic/Enterprise software architecture, Wincor Nixdorf will show how customers can combine these channels cost effectively. ProClassic/Enterprise is equipped with comprehensive self-service components, offering ideal ways to integrate new sales channels. Together with its partners, Wincor Nixdorf will demonstrate the integration of call centers and home banking as well as CRM and document management systems. With innovative security solutions, Wincor Nixdorf aims to help customers avoid attempts to manipulate their ATM and electronic payment systems. The company will show new solutions to prevent so-called skimming and Lebanese Loop attacks on ATM systems, as well as SCOP (Secure Cash Out Procedure), which prevents non-authorized ATM payments through software manipulation from viruses. A core competency of Wincor Nixdorf is the ability to transfer standard transactions to self-service. At Wincor World, the company will present numerous applications showing how manufacturers, public transportation companies, administrations and utility companies can profit from automated standard transactions in the business-to-consumer area. Wincor Nixdorf is positioning itself strategically for the future when it comes to IT solutions for international retailing. For what is one of the most dynamic industries there is, the company has developed a robust product and solution concept for in-store technology applications running under the name "Store Vision". At Wincor World, Wincor Nixdorf will be showing solutions under its "Store Vision" banner which reduce complexity and costs for retail businesses as well as improving service to the customer. The mainstays of this program are solutions within the general headings of "Store Automation", "Checkout Solutions", "Management of Supply and Demand" and "Radio Frequency Identification" (RFID). In the area of "Store automation" Wincor Nixdorf will show mobile solutions, electronic shelf-labeling systems, empties return systems, intelligent promotion management concepts, automation of cash processes and typical kiosk solution applications. In addition to staff-assisted checkout concepts, Wincor Nixdorf will present evolutionary developments and complementary add-ons such as self-checkout systems, the Personal Shopping Assistant (PSA) and mobile self-scanning systems. In the "Supply and Demand" area, exhibits such as SAP materials management solutions, category management (CMplus) and fraud detection (FDplus) will spotlight solutions enabling efficient, cost-optimized work procedures. Key topics will be the linking of mobile units to SAP, customer-led range management and IT to support audit activity. Representatives of the Metro Future Store Initiative will give an overview of their work in this leading-edge project in which Wincor Nixdorf is playing a key role as a "Gold Partner." Wincor Nixdorf has provided the Extra Future Store's complex IT environment with integrated products and solutions, including the Personal Shopping Assistant (PSA), advertising displays and kiosk systems. In conjunction with Texas Instruments, Wincor Nixdorf will demonstrate potential radio frequency identification applications for retailers in the "RFID Future Lab" ranging from merchandise management through checkout.
