WINCOR WORLD 2009

Wincor World 2009, which was held in Paderborn from January 20 to 22, has once more proven to be the place where experts from retail banking and retailers gather, even in times of economic crisis. More than 7,000 visitors from well over 80 countries again came to Paderborn – including customers from Ghana, Nepal, Pakistan, Venezuela and the Philippines.

The trade show’s focus was on complete solutions for automating and rationalizing processes at stores and branches. As expected, the topic of cutting costs was very high on the agenda of IT managers of banks and retailing companies. “There was particular demand, for instance, for solutions to rationalize cash handling at stores and branches, as well as for the organization of cash logistics. We also registered great interest in our software portfolio in conjunction with customizing services,” said Andreas Bruck, Head of Corporate Communication at Wincor Nixdorf. Retail banks and retailers were still endeavoring to revamp their IT. Attention also centered on offers for outsourcing operations management of self-service and IT networks.

Over three days at 600 different exhibits, Wincor Nixdorf and a further 40 exhibitors presented their range of solutions, not only for banks and retailers, but also for postal services and operators of restaurant chains and canteens. An extended program of talks and workshops with international experts again proved to be a big draw card.
