Wired and Wireless Satisfaction in Europe

Published: 22 March 2001 y., Thursday
According to a recent survey from Qualiope done in conjunction with Ipsos-Reid France, 92% of landline telephone users and 79% of mobile/cellphone users in Western Europe are either "very" or "fairly" satisfied with the sound quality of their telephone connection. The study questioned users in six countries and found that they tended to find more satisfaction in their landline connections than the connections they made with their mobile phones. Few people are ever truly satisfied when they are charged money for a service, however, it is interesting to note that even though cellphone usage is prolific in Western Europe, few people are very satisfied with the price of their mobile service. The Netherlands housed the highest percentage of satisfied paying customers with only 17% expressing contentment with their mobile phone pricing plan. Ipsos and Qualiope found that internet connection speed is also an issue in Western Europe. Although 72% of Germany and 69% of the UK is satisfied with connection speeds, 35% of the Netherlands and 47% of Spain expressed dissatisfaction with the speed of the internet connections in the countries.
