Wireless TV Channel Launches

A television channel aimed at delivering programming to wireless handhelds was launched Friday. Kanakaris Wireless started its AK.TV channel, which delivers programming to interactive television (I-TV) to wireless Pocket PC devices, the company said. The company is delivering the video that comprises the television channel over the Internet. Kanakaris develops technology that delivers streaming media to small footprint devices. Initially, the channel was playing old movies Friday morning and a link to the program guide was not functioning. In a statement, the company said that the station also will offer e-commerce opportunities.
